Inaccurate measurements are the most common cause of installation problems. These steps help you gather exact figures, and if you are unsure you can order measuring from us.
1. Measure width and height in several places
An opening is rarely perfectly square. Measure the width at the top, middle and bottom, and the height on the left, in the middle and on the right. Take the smallest value and write it down in millimetres.
2. Measure the wall thickness
The thickness decides whether the frame will fit and how it is fixed. The frames in our range run from roughly 70 to 142 mm, so give the thickness when you order.
3. Note which way the door opens
Standing outside, mark which side the hinges should be on. Many models are made both left- and right-hand.
4. Note the floor level
If the floor is not laid yet, give the planned finished floor level. The threshold height and whether the door swings freely depend on it.
5. Compare with the catalogue sizes
Catalogue sizes include 860×2050 and 960×2050 mm, and the door-and-a-half version is 1250×2050 mm. If your opening is different, the door can be made to order.
When it is worth ordering measuring
Order measuring when the door is made to order, the opening is non-standard or an old door is being replaced.
